Grenada β the Spice Isle β is a tri-island state of remarkable density: nutmeg, cocoa, coral reefs, volcanic peaks, and Carib heritage compressed into 344 square kilometres of Eastern Caribbean.
Comprising Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique, the nation lies at the southern tip of the Windward Islands. The capital St. George's is widely regarded as the most picturesque harbour city in the Caribbean.
Grenada was selected because it embodies sustainable tourism on a defensible scale. Small enough to study end-to-end, ambitious enough to lead the Caribbean on Marine Protected Areas, organic agriculture, and community-rooted hospitality. The ideal classroom for studying islands as systems.
Each cohort visits a curated selection of these sites β heritage, ecological, and cultural β for guided fieldwork and on-site lectures.
UrbanPastel-roofed colonial city wrapped around a horseshoe harbour β UNESCO-tentative listing for cultural landscape.
CoastalTwo miles of white sand consistently ranked among the world's ten finest beaches. Cohort venue for graduation.
CulturalThe world's first underwater museum β Jason deCaires Taylor's reef-restoring sculptures. A living case study.
HeritageThree-century-old organic cocoa estate. Tree-to-bar chocolate, fair-share cooperatives, and agro-tourism in practice.
NatureCrater-lake national park with Mona monkeys, mahogany forests, and the headwaters of the island's rivers.
CulturalThe Grenada Cooperative Nutmeg Association β a globally cited model of farmer-owned commodity governance.
